What under cabinet actually involves
Under cabinet light is the highest impact per dollar upgrade in a kitchen. Done right it is hardwired: the strip tucks behind the cabinet lip, the driver hides above the cabinets or in one, and a wall switch or dimmer runs the whole run. No plugs eating your backsplash outlets, no cords, no bright dots reflecting in the counter. We also light shelving, bars, toe kicks, and closets the same way.

Under Cabinet questions
Hardwired every time if the walls are open or the backsplash is coming off. Plug in strips have their place in a rental, but cords and stolen outlets age badly in a kitchen you own.
