Troubleshooting and Tripped Breakers

Dead outlets, warm switches, breakers that will not hold. We find the actual fault and fix that, not the symptom.

The work

What troubleshooting actually involves

A breaker that keeps tripping is information. It is telling you there is an overload, a short, a ground fault, or a failing breaker, and each of those has a different fix. Thirty years of service work means we have seen the aluminum branch circuits, the backstabbed outlets, the DIY junctions in the attic, and the melted wire nuts behind the one warm switch plate. We diagnose to the fault, explain it in plain English, and fix the cause.

When you need it

  • A breaker trips repeatedly or will not reset
  • Outlets are dead in one area but the breaker looks fine
  • Lights flicker when the AC kicks on
  • A switch plate or outlet is warm, buzzing, or smells hot
  • GFCIs trip the moment anything plugs in outside

Troubleshooting questions

The trip itself is the breaker doing its job. What is dangerous is why it keeps happening, and taping it, upsizing it, or holding it closed turns a warning into a fire risk. Find the cause.
